SoRi Pritikin, M.Ed., M.A.
SoRi has over a decade of experience as an educational and behavioral therapist. With a keen eye toward a student’s motivation, SoRi translates evidence-based approaches from cognitive neuroscience to understand a student’s relationship to learning. She draws from three domains, the neuro-cognitive, socio-emotional, and behavioral components of learning, to determine the most effective, most efficient, and (hopefully!) most enjoyable ways for a child to learn. But the magic of SoRi’s approach comes from her intuition and experience. She sees problems from the child’s point of view, and this lets her build a child’s confidence and capability.
SoRi received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley. She has since completed a Master of Education with an emphasis in applied behavior analysis and Master of Arts in Educational Therapy with Distinction from the California State University, Northridge. SoRi is a certified member of the Orton-Gillingham Association and holds Associate-level certification from the Association of Educational Therapists.
SoRi has extensive experience providing educational assessment and strategic instruction to students with learning disorders such as dyslexia and dyscalculia and neurological disorders such as ADHD and autism. It is common for emotional challenges to co-occur with these learning and neurological disorders, and SoRi’s intuitive, analytical approach can calm and empower her students. SoRi utilizes multisensory approaches, such as Orton Gillingham and Lively Letters, and strength-based interventions, to support students' individualized needs.
