Renee Weiss, MA
Renee Weiss, M.A., BCET, MFTI, is a Board Certified Educational Therapist and Marriage and Family Therapist. With a career spanning education, counseling, and therapeutic practice, she brings a unique blend of academic expertise and clinical insight to her work with children, adolescents, and adults.
Renee earned her B.A. in Theatre with a minor in English from California State University Northridge, a Lifetime Secondary English Credential from Pepperdine University, and an M.A. in Marriage and Family Counseling from the California Family Study Center. Her professional journey began in the classroom as an English and Drama teacher with the Los Angeles Unified School District and Westmark School, where she worked across grade levels in the Tutorial Department.
As a Board Certified Educational Therapist, Renee specializes in academic assessment, educational remediation, and advocacy for students with IEPs and 504 plans. She has extensive experience supporting learners with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, dyslexia, and dysgraphia. Her practice focuses on executive functioning, time management, study skills, reading, phonics (including the Wilson Program), expository writing, and computer literacy.
Renee’s clinical work includes serving as a staff educational therapist with FACT (Families, Adult, Child Therapies) and supervising behavioral interventionists through BID (Behavioral Intervention Development). Additionally, she contributes to staff development at Mindspark as an Autism Specialist, training professionals to better support autistic adults and employees with executive functioning challenges.
Her professional affiliations include membership in the Association of Educational Therapists (AET) and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT). She is also a published author in the Journal of Educational Therapists.
