Naomi Gruber, M.A.
Naomi Gruber, an educational therapist with specialized training in remediation of dyslexia, has been an educator for over 18 years. Naomi has a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Child Development as well as a certificate in Educational Therapy from the University of California-Riverside. Her training in dyslexia remediation is through the Orton-Gillingham Academy. Beyond this research-based approach to structured literacy development, Naomi pulls from her training in Lindamood Bell’s Seeing Stars and Visualizing and Verbalizing programs, each of which can bolster elements of an Orton-Gillingham approach. Her background in both psychology and education have provided her with a unique understanding of children and adolescents.
Naomi is passionate about helping children with learning differences to believe in themselves and become confident, successful learners (and people!). Naomi takes an organic approach to working with children that is informed by her training, experience, and parenting her own children. Children and adolescents with learning differences benefit from Naomi’s whole-child approach that honors their developmental stage and emotional relationship to school as she helps them more fully engage in academics. Beyond foundational literacy development, i.e. learning to read, spell, and write, Naomi can help kids develop executive functioning skills to manage the in-school and at-home aspects of learning. Naomi’s support for literacy and learning ranges from kids as young as four to adolescents.
